Ciaq Board of Directors

Saint-Hyacinthe, April 27 2015 – Ciaq is proud to announce the composition of its Board of Directors for 2015-2016 and its Executive Committee following the annual general meeting held on April 21, 2015. Members of the Ciaq Board of Directors elected Mr. Daniel Côté as president.

Mr. Côté joined the Board of Directors in 2007. He has served as vice-president since 2012. He will be supported in his responsibilities by Mr. Normand Chevrier as 1st vice president and by Mr. Martin Grégoire as 2nd vice president. Other members of the Board were reelected by the three partner organizations.

"I am honoured to take over as president of Ciaq. Over the years, I have witnessed the growth of this organization through my involvement in Les Producteurs de lait du Québec. As successor to Mr. Chabot, I want to follow in this path that enabled Ciaq to make significant progress over the past four years. I want to congratulate Mr. Chabot on his work, his integrity and his leadership as head of the Board of Directors. Ciaq is a jewel of our industry and we are working to preserve it. So, it is with great enthusiasm and confidence that I take on my responsibilities as president. I know I can count on the cooperation of the entire Ciaq team", declared Mr. Côté.

Appointed by Les Producteurs de lait du Québec (PLQ), Mr. Côté is a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Producteurs de lait in the Saguenay–Lac-Sait-Jean region since 1999. He became President of the organization back in 2005. Mr. Côté is co-owner with his two brothers of Ferme Lacnor (bearing the prefix Jeanri) from Saint-Bruno the farm has a quota of 110 kg/day for 100 milking Holstein cows. The farm cultivates nearly 600 hectares in crops.

Mr. Léonard Chabot is stepping down as president but he will remain on the Board of Directors. He took the opportunity to thank his fellow members for their trust and their commitment. Over this past year, Mr. Chabot has brought to fruiton a major consultation focusing on producers' perception of Ciaq. This project culminated with the launching of the company's new brand image in November 2014.

Mario Hébert, Ciaq’s General Manager, underlined: "The year 2014 has become a landmark in Ciaq’s history. It has seen the unveiling of our new image, reflecting our values, our mission and our vision for the future. It has been a witness to several changes, including the deployment of a number of strategic actions and the reinforcement of our Management and Sales teams. Finally, this spring, the new Ciaq Evolution program was introduced in an effort to better meet the needs of our clients and support them in developing long lasting and profitable cows. Being the partner Québec breeders are looking for in genetics and reproduction gives its full meaning to Ciaq’s new corporate signature, Let’s conceive the future."
