Quebec Breeders Distinguished Themselves at World Dairy Expo in Madison

The name World Dairy Expo is very appropriate as it is undoubtedly the most popular event in the dairy industry worldwide where genetics elites shine. For Quebec breeders, even just taking part in the event is already a huge success. Congratulations to those who did well and boost the visibility of our sires!

Ayrshire


Poker and Calimero stood out by the quality and number of their daughters exhibited on the field, the first one even being the sire of the Junior Champion, Covey-P&A Poker Jem ET.

•   Among the 236 cows displayed, 94 came from our sires
•   Intermediate Champion and 1st Senior 3 years
•   Forever Schoon Ping (Modem), Ferme de la Plaine, Sainte-Françoise, QC
•   2nd Adult Cow, Hon. Ment. Sr and Hon. Ment. Grand Champion
•   Lombard Dale Wilton Icing, Charpentier, Roberge, Bavaroise, Alholm, Victoriaville, QC


Jersey

 

•   31% of all calves on display came from more than 22 Semex Alliance/CIAQ different sires
•   25 daughters of Select-Scott Minister were showcased
•   Grand Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion, Pine Haven SSM (Minister) Marmie
•   A daughter of Lencrest Blackstone won the Junior 1 year old class
•   Bridon Remake Comerica was named Best Sire of the day
•   Marlau Comerica Fabienne was 1st Senior 1 year old for production and Reserve Intermediate Champion
 

Holstein

 

•   45% of all calves on display came from more than 29 Semex Alliance/CIAQ different sires
•   7 class winners
•   Goldwyn was the best sire of the day for a fourth consecutive year
•   Over 100 Goldwyn daughters showcased, representing 25% of all cows on display at the show
•   Grand Champion and Supreme Grand Champion, Eastside Lewisdale Gold (Goldwyn) Missy EX95
•   8 daughters of Talent on display, including the 1st 4 year old and Senior Reserve Champion
•   The Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor banners were respectively awarded to Ferme Jacobs and Gen Com Holstein
•   Five Quebec cows were part of Semex's Walk of Fame:
