Launching of the notepad on heat detection
Drummondville, 19 March 2009 – At the AGM of the Conseil provincial des CAB, Alphonse Pittet, Chairman of the Table de concertation sur la reproduction (TCR) and member of the Board of Directors of CIAQ, proceeded with the launching of a notepad on heat detection.
This notepad is aimed at filling a need often raised by producers for a simple tool, designed for noting observations related to reproduction at the farm.
It
results from the work of an ad hoc committee of the TCR, composed of
three producers, one veterinarian and one CIAQ technician. This useful
tool was developed through joint action by the main Québec stakeholders
in reproduction in order for its use to be harmonized with herd data
collection.
The
TCR has the mandate to favor the sharing of information and discussion
on reproduction by experts, across the same table, in order to define
and take common and concerted actions to improve herd fertility.
The first edition of the notepad is offered free of charge
thanks to the contribution of CIAQ, Conseil provincial des CAB, Conseil
québécois des races laitières, Holstein Québec, Valacta, L'Alliance
Boviteq and A.M.V.P.Q.
All
the members of the TCR will have a notepad on hand to show it to the
producers within the activities of their organization or the
performance of their duties. The producers wishing to use this notepad
can ask their CIAQ A.I. technician or farm service representative for a
copy.
