The bulls

CIAQ owns two housing complexes where nearly 840 bulls are housed, 150 at the Saint-Hyacinthe station and 690 at the Sainte-Madeleine station. All bulls must meet the health requirements of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) which allows for their semen to be exported on the various world markets.

CIAQ offers breeders a remarkable line of leading sires on the national and international levels in the Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Canadienne, Holstein and Jersey dairy breeds, as well as in the beef breeds.

The famous Hanoverhill Starbuck lived for 19 years and 4 months in CIAQ’s barns and today, several of his descendants are housed there.
