A high-quality product - Semen is collected by expert technicians using very stringent sanitary and safety conditions, at a rate of two times per week for most sires. On average, 500 doses per sire can be produced at each collection. CIAQ's annual production is around 6 000 000 semen doses. Doses of semen are stored mainly in 0,25 ml mini-straws and frozen in liquid nitrogen at –196°C.

L’Alliance Boviteq, a subsidiary of The Semex Alliance, also produces sexed semen from certain sires that CIAQ makes available to breeders interested in increasing the ratio of female calves, thus helping to better plan replacements in the herd.
